Poster vector illustration for Metrópoli Gijón

Details of the project

This poster vector illustration is created for Metropoli Gijon Entertainment, media and culture festival.  Illustration represents Gijón and San Lorenzo’s beach in the background and a whole bunch of famous characters from comics, films, video games and novels reinterpreted through our funny and fresh flat vector style.

We start with a digital drawing sketch created directly in Adobe Photoshop using a Wacom Cintiq 22HD and then digitalizing and vectorizing everything in Adobe Illustration.

In 2015, we created this funny illustration for the official Metropoli 2015 poster and promo campaign. Unluckily, we did not win the first prize, but at least we were selected as finalists between a really huge bunch of great poster designs. Usually we are against of participating in poster design contests due to the lack of profesionality and devaluation of our profession, but this unique ocassion we did an exception for the famous festival. Organization of the festival did a great effort to offer a valuable prize and ensure the quality of all finalist artwork.

Metropoli, the newest culture and media entertainment festival of all the North of Spain, is located in Gijón, Asturias. In Metropoli, you can find many different events, exhibitions, stores and activies related with the world of famous films, comics, video games, art and literature.
