RKB mountainboards artwork design and packaging design

About the project

RKB is a worldwide recognized brand of mountainborads manufactured by Radsails. A mountainboard is a kind of skateboard with huge pneumatic tyres and bigger suspensions even with springs. This setup allows every rider to go through all terrains and ground surfaces, usually equipped with a power traction kite too.

These illustrations were designed to be printed on 3 new models of mountainboards. Iinspired in Chinese mythological creatures, they were created in a minimalist calligraphic style with soft color gradients and clean shapes making them stand out from the current vintage and grunge retro-trends of those years.

Also, RKB mountainboard illustrations were used for advertisements and packaging design in addition to a couple of covers of Radsails catalogs. Mainly, this set of mountainboards were sold worldwide from 2009 to 2013. The RKBs got a big amount of sales in due to its innovative sleek style and minimalist aesthetic that other mountainboard brands were not used to produce.
